In corporate communications it's important to give a personal impression about who the faces of the organization are. Who cares for the clients? It is way more important to know who is in charge.
Since everything is machine assisted and structures are maximized (but not always functional), someone you can personally talk to has become a key feature. And the need for a personal appeal brings staff in front of the camera.
Things always depend on the message intended, in my opinion "real people in real situations" is a good starting point to elevate a relationship with your target groups. Nevertheless, when staff become models, this needs some preparation and raises lots of questions. The convincing image mostly is a result of highly motivated people, that like the idea and have a certain tendency to be an actor. Like so often the best moment is the one, when you are just watching a natural scene.
